Gravity is like a big hug from the Earth!

You know how when you give someone a hug, you pull them close to you? That's kind of what the Earth is doing to everything on it, including you! It's pulling everything towards itself.

That's why you don't float off into space when you're standing on the ground. The Earth is giving you a big hug, keeping your feet on the ground. And that's why things fall down when you drop them. The Earth is pulling on them, saying "come here, little thing, I want to hug you too!"
