Gravity is like a big hug from the Earth!

You know how when you give your favorite stuffed animal a big squeeze and it feels safe and cozy? That's kind of like what the Earth is doing to you and everything else on it. The Earth is giving us a big hug, and it's keeping us from floating away into space.

That's why you don't float off your bed when you're sleeping, and why things don't just lift off the ground and disappear. The Earth's gravity is like a strong, invisible arm that's always hugging us and keeping us safe. Isn't that cool?
