Ooh, gravity is like a big hug from the Earth!

You know how when you give your favorite toy a big hug, you squeeze it tight and it doesn't go flying away? That's kind of like what the Earth is doing to you and everything else on it. The Earth is giving us all a big hug, and that's what keeps us on the ground and not floating off into space!

Imagine you're playing with a ball on the playground. If you throw it up in the air, what happens? It comes back down to the ground, right? That's because the Earth is pulling on the ball with its gravity hug. And it's doing the same thing to you!
