Gravity is like a big hug from the Earth!

You know how when you give your favorite toy a big hug, you pull it close to you? That's kind of like what the Earth is doing to you and everything else on it. The Earth is pulling everything towards itself, so you don't float off into space. It's like a big, gentle hug that keeps you on the ground.

Imagine you have a ball, and you throw it up in the air. What happens? It comes back down to the ground, right? That's because the Earth is pulling on the ball with its gravity. And it's pulling on you too, so you don't float away!
