Well, gravity is like a big hug from the Earth! It's what keeps us and everything else on the ground. It's like the Earth is giving everything a big squeeze, saying "I want to keep you here with me!"

Imagine you're playing with a ball on the playground. You throw it up in the air, and what happens? It comes back down, right? That's because the Earth's gravity is pulling on the ball, saying "Come back here and play with me!"
