Ooh, gravity is like a big hug from the Earth!

You know how when you give your favorite toy a big hug, you pull it close to you? That's kind of like what the Earth is doing to you and everything else on it. The Earth is pulling everything towards it, so that's why you don't float off into space when you're standing on it. It's like the Earth is saying, "Hey, I love you, stay close to me!" And that's why things fall down instead of up when you drop them. Isn't that cool?
