Ooh, gravity is like a big hug from the Earth!

You know how when you hug your favorite stuffed animal, you hold it close to your body? That's kind of like what the Earth is doing to you and everything else on it. The Earth is giving everything a big hug, pulling it towards itself. That's why you don't float off into space when you're standing on the ground. You're stuck to the Earth's hug!

And that's why things fall down instead of up. The Earth's hug is pulling them down towards its center. Isn't that cool?
